The Powers of CBD

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a signaling system throughout our bodies comprised of endocannabinoids and cannabinoid receptors. The ECS is responsible for helping our bodies achieve homeostasis (biological harmony) by maintaining and regulating different key functions in our health.
Our bodies naturally produce endocannabinoids, which are important in supporting our ECS. However, things such as stress, illness and injury can interfere with the body’s natural endocannabinoid production. This alters the efficiency of the ECS, causing an ‘imbalance’ and prevents effective communication within our bodies. When this system gets out of balance, our body is no longer in homeostasis.
Some experts believe that many medical diseases and conditions are possibly caused by endocannabinoid deficiencies. This is a complex system, and ongoing research will determine all the functions and capabilities of the ECS.
